What is Reiki?

The official name is Shinshin Kaizen Usui Reiki Ryoho (Usui Reiki treatment method to improve body and mind). It was founded by Mikao Usui, in 1922 (Taisho 11) and is a treatment method through hands-on techniques that is aimed at improving the body and mind. It can be used not only for physical and mental improvement but also for correcting bad habits and offering treatment by distance as well. Before the war, there were many practitioners throughout Japan.

To put it simply, Reiki treatment is the process of receiving and letting the Reiki energy flow constantly from the "天 ten" (ex: universe, heaven, cosmic, nature) through the practitioner's body to the patient. That is why hands are placed on the body. Humans originally possessed the ability to receive Reiki energy from the 天 ten. By recalling that ability, anyone can learn it.

Reiki treatment method is a natural therapy that utilizes the original abilities of human beings to work on the patient's own natural healing abilities. A patient is in a state where their own natural healing process is not functioning properly. Therefore, the practitioner lets Reiki energy flow through their own body to let it recall and stimulate the patient's healing ability. That is the essence of Reiki therapy.

No special training is required to practice Reiki treatment. The maximum effectiveness of Reiki treatment is achieved through daily and consistent practice. The practitioner simply places their hands while maintaining a calm state of mind. This involves practising the five principles (Just for today, do not be angry, do not worry, be grateful, do your duties fully, be kind to others).

Reiki treatment is recommended as a home remedy that is safe and easy. There are many opportunities to utilize it in daily life, including raising children and caring for others, and it is compatible with daily continuation. It is an ideal therapy for promoting a harmonious family life.
